Ingratitude is the worst of the vices

Matthew Henry (on the night he was robbed):

1. I thank God that I looked prosperous enough to be robbed
2. I thank God that although they took my purse, they did not take my life
3. I thank God that it was I who was robbed and not me doing the robbing

Finger-writing and socialism

1. Un-learning how to finger-write
2. Learning to use my shoulder girdle and forearms to do the job instead
3. Use words to impart wisdom, encourage, nurture and protect
4. You can't legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity
5. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving
6. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take away from somebody else
7. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it
8. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end for the nation
9. When the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great
10. Socialism will ultimately fail because it does away with the reward
